Meet the Special Areas Board
Meet the Advisory Council
Kevin Bossert represents Special Area 2, Subdivision 1, and lives near Hanna.
Special Area 2, Subdivision 2 is represented by Neal Roes. Neal was elected in October 2013 to the Advisory Council. Neal farms and ranches in the Homestead Coulee area.
Special Area 2, Subdivision 3 is represented by Brad Slorstad. Brad was elected in October 2013 to the Advisory Council. Brad farms and ranches near Sunnynook
Special Area No. 2, Subdivision 4 is represented by Lee Fryberger. Lee was elected in April 2020 to the Advisory Council. Born and raised in the Special Areas, Lee ranches with his family near Wardlow.
Special Area 2, Subdivision 5 is represented by James Madge who along with his wife and family operate Madge Farms just east of Hanna. The Madge family is one of the longest standing progressive farm/ranch operations in the Special Areas.
Daryl represents Special Area 2 Subdivision 7 and owns/operates a farm and ranch in the Bindloss area. His family has been on the farm for over 100 years and hope to be there for another 100. He has been a representative on the Board since 2014. When he’s not flying around checking his fields, he’s showing his sons the ropes and providing astute advice to the Board.
Special Area 2, Subdivision 8 is represented by Brad Osadczuk. Brad was elected in October 2013 to the Advisory Council. Brad farms in the Iddesleigh area.
Special Area 3 Subdivision 4 is represented by Travis Foot who along with his family operate Footprint Farms. The Foot’s have been actively farming/ranching for over 100 years in the Esther area. When not working with his cows, Travis can be found providing real estate services to the community and surrounding areas.
Special Area 3, Subdivision 5 is represented by Sam Shadlock. Sam and his family run a mixed operations, with a variety of animals.
Special Area 3, Subdivision 6 is represented by Kevin Wilson. Kevin was elected to Advisory Council in October 2010. Kevin and his family ranch south west of Cereal.
Special Area 4, Subdivision 1 is represented by Graham Schetzsle. Elected as an Advisory Councillor in October 2017, Graham ranches and farms in the Veteran and Little Gem areas.
Special Area 4, Subdivision 2 is represented by Barry Redel. Along with his wife and family, Barry operates Redel Farms just south of Consort. Redel Farms has operated in the Special Areas since 1908. Barry is very passionate about farming and improving soils through diverse crop rotation.
Special Area 4, Subdivision 3 is represented by Doug Noble. Doug has called the Altario area home for his entire life, and is active in the community on local boards and groups including 4H, Minor Hockey, Parent Council. Doug and his wife operate Hawks Haven Ranch, a mixed farming operation in the area.

Controlled Burn Notifications
Effective November 9, 2020 the Fire Restriction in the Special Areas is lifted.
Controlled Burn Notifications are required for any type of burning, except campfires and incinerator fires. Safe campfires are allowed in campgrounds and random camping areas.
