AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC - LEAD
SALARY: $70,018 - $75,895 per annum
YOUNGSTOWN: The Special Areas Board is currently seeking a permanent full-time position located in Youngstown, Alberta at the Board’s nineteen (19) bay equipment and roads service facility.
Special Areas maintains a large municipal road construction and maintenance program with over 600 pieces of equipment. The Board operates a modernized fleet of equipment and is focused on a detailed preventative maintenance program.
This position is a working Lead Position and is responsible for directly overseeing a small team of Automotive Mechanics, including working alongside to support timely and effective service delivery.
Key duties include:
• providing detailed direction on maintenance scheduling, minor and major repairs, and best practices for fleet utilization;
• directing analysis of equipment, with a focus on trucks (1/2 Ton up to 4 Ton), light trailers, small engines and other lighter equipment in the fleet;
• diagnosing/repairing Diesel-style engines; and
• delivering the Special Areas Safety Program and all reporting requirements,
The successful candidate will possess proven organizational skills, a commitment to service excellence, a sense of urgency and accuracy for all tasks, and strong communication skills. Proven success in a leadership role combined with strong team-building abilities would be an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience using Microsoft Office to deliver effective analysis reporting to multiple users.
QUALIFICATIONS: Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, valid in the province of Alberta and 5 years related experience with Vehicle Inspection knowledge. A Class 5 Driver’s License is required. CVIP certification qualified would be an asset.
