COVID-19 Update – Mandatory Measures in Place Province-Wide

Mandatory province-wide public health restrictions are now in effect in the Special Areas. These include mandatory masks in all indoor public settings, and a ban on all social gatherings – indoor and outside.

Masks are now required to be worn by anyone visiting our offices or facilities.

Our focus remains maintaining the critical core services you rely on. Our offices remain open to the public; however, we strongly encourage you to conduct your business over the phone or online. Contact information for our offices is available at www.specialareas.ab.ca/contact/.

Additional provincial public health measures will come into effect on December 13. These measures will touch every part of our lives, from business and program closures to additional restrictions. Learn more at https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx.

We understand these changes are very hard, especially this time of year. On behalf of the Advisory Council, Board, and staff, thank you for doing your part.

Stay healthy, stay connected, and keep taking care of each other.

Jordon Christianson, Chair
Special Areas Board
