MD Acadia & Special Areas Hosting Regional Irrigation Open Houses
Community open houses in Pollockville and Acadia Valley will be held on October 6 to give updates on irrigation feasibility work for the region.
MD of Acadia and Special Areas are hosting these drop-in sessions so local producers can get the latest update on regional irrigation work. Experts will be on-hand to answer questions about irrigation, water availability, and potential governance structures.
Drop-ins are welcome and no RSVPs are required.
The open house in Pollockville will run from 9 am to 11 am at the Hard Grass Hub, and the open house in Acadia Valley will be at the Acadia Valley Arena from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Current public health restrictions will be in effect.
The regional irrigation feasibility project is being completed through a partnership including the Special Areas Board, M.D. of Acadia, Alberta Agriculture & Forestry, and the Canada Infrastructure Bank. This project is expected to help clarify what the opportunities are for investment in large scale, greenfield irrigation infrastructure in the region.
Individuals interested in receiving updates on the project should register with the Special Areas Board or the M.D. of Acadia. To sign up for future information updates, individuals are asked to send preferred contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
