National Public Works Week – May 17 to 23

This week, we recognize National Public Works Week and acknowledge the work done every day by our employees to maintain services residents rely on.

Across the Special Areas, municipal employees are responsible for roads and bridges, water systems, and support for emergency services. These are essential services funded by ratepayers and delivered on your behalf, often in challenging rural and remote conditions. The work may not always be visible, but it plays an important role in keeping our communities safe and functioning.

Living and working in a rural‑remote region means we rely on cooperation, experience, and practical problem‑solving. Our teams are committed to using the resources entrusted to them in a cost‑effective and responsible way, while making the greatest possible impact for residents across the Special Areas.

On behalf of the Advisory Council and Board, thank you to our employees for the work you do to serve the Special Areas. Thank you to residents for your continued support of the services that keep our communities running, this week and throughout the year.
