Effective Friday, August 14th the Special Areas Board is imposing a fire restriction to extend throughout all Special Areas.
The restriction is imposed on all outdoor fires but does not include gas or propane barbeques, or fires contained in campfire facilities in designated supervised camping areas. Incinerator fires are permitted at a minimum distance of 30 m away from structures and 3 m away from combustible materials.
Existing Controlled Burns may be suspended or cancelled, and new Controlled Burns will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The Towns or Villages or Provincial Parks within the Special Areas handle their own restrictions and should be contacted directly.
