26 Feb Notice of Public Hearing – March 22, 2022
A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:30 pm in the Special Areas Board office located at 212-2nd Ave. W. in Hanna, AB.
The Minister of Municipal Affairs proposes both the Sheerness Industrial Park Area Structure Plan (ASP) and an amendment to the Land Use Order M.O. # MSL:007/15 (LUO). The purpose of the proposed ASP and LUO amendment is to attract new industrial development which will create economic opportunities for the region. Further, the amendment to the LUO will redistrict the NW & SW-5-28-13-W4 from Agricultural District (A) to Rural Industrial District (RI) to accommodate future industrial development at the ASP site as seen below:
Copies of the proposed ASP and LUO amendment are available at Special Areas district offices during regular business hours and online at Sheerness ASP-Feb18_2022. Any person adversely or otherwise affected by this action, and wishing to address the Board relating to this matter, may attend the joint public hearing at 1:15 pm on March 22nd, 2022. Time limit of oral presentations is subject to the Chair’s discretion.
Written comments and suggestions are invited and should be addressed to proposed Sheerness Industrial Park Area Structure Plan and Land Use Order amendment. Written submissions must be received by 4:30 pm on Friday, March 18th, 2022.
