What We Heard: Resident Satisfaction 2025 Survey Results

The Special Areas Board is committed to listening to residents and using feedback to guide decisions. Between May and September 2025, we asked residents to share their thoughts on quality of life, municipal services, governance, and priorities for the future.

Here’s what we heard:

  • Quality of Life: 83% rated life in the Special Areas as High or Very High.
  • Service Satisfaction: 78% were satisfied overall. Fire & Emergency Services and Water & Wastewater scored highest. Road maintenance and waste management were areas of concern.
  • Governance & Representation: Positive ratings for staff interactions stood out, while responses indicated mixed perceptions of Advisory Councillor representation.
  • Value for Taxes: Average score of 63/100.
  • Resident Priorities: Healthcare access, road maintenance, and lower municipal taxes topped the list.
  • Engagement: 70% want more opportunities to influence decisions; only 36% feel current opportunities are sufficient.

Residents also highlighted the need for stronger communication, investment in community facilities, and support for local business and agriculture.
