26 Mar Prairie Oasis Park – 2022 Online Reservations
Camping season will be here soon, and we are busy getting our municipal parks and campgrounds ready for you. For the 2022 season, we are happy to share that online reservations are back – and better than ever!
We have listened to your concerns about online reservation systems used in the past. To make sure your online booking experience is a positive one this season, we have contracted Campspot to deliver online reservations for Prairie Oasis Park for the 2022 season. Campspot is an industry leader in campground management software, managing over 130,000 campsites across North America. You can learn more about Campspot at www.campspot.com.
What’s new for the 2022 season?
We have added more sites to the online reservation system, including the large group Camp Kitchen Site. The Bullpound Loop large group site is no longer available to be booked as a group site, instead only the individual sites can be booked. Smaller group sites – sites which can host between 2 to 4 units – are available to be booked online using the reservation system.
For 2022, there are 55 reservable sites and 44 non-reservable sites at Prairie Oasis Park. Non-reservable sites will be managed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
During shoulder season all sites in the park will be managed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Shoulder season runs from May 1 to 16 and September 10 to October 13.
During summer season, online reservations can be made for reservable sites at www.campspot.com/book/prairieoasispark. Non reservable sites will continue to be managed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The summer season runs from May 17 to September 9.
When do reservations open?
The reservation system for Prairie Oasis Park will begin accepting reservations for the 2022 season on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 9 am MST. There will be a $12 non-refundable reservation fee for online reservations.
You will not be able to make reservations prior to this time.
You will be able to set up your account in advance, including payment information, by going to www.campspot.com. You will not be able to view sites prior the online reservation period opening.
Once reservations open, you will be able to book your stay at www.campspot.com/book/prairieoasispark. You will be able to search available sites based on camping dates, site type, and other amenities. You will also be able to view campsites on the campground map. Remember, you will not be able to book any sites prior to April 13 at 9am MST. Instead, you will get a message which says Sorry, there are no sites available matching your current search.
Once your reservation has been confirmed, you will get a confirmation email. You will also be able to access your reservations under My Account on the Campspot website.
Other changes at Prairie Oasis Park
You will see some changes at Prairie Oasis Park this season, including a new registration booth at the entrance to the park. This booth will be staffed by Special Areas Parks Staff and will manage campsite registrations and park access throughout the summer.
When the booth is staffed, all overnight campers will have to stop at the booth prior to entering the park. This will include campers with online reservations as well as those looking for a first-come, first-serve site. Overnight campers already at a first-come, first-serve site who want to extend their stay will need to check-in with staff at the registration booth by 10 am.
When the booth is not staffed, a sign will be visible which directs overnight campers self-registration is in effect. Campers and trailers will not be allowed to enter the park without a registered campsite permit. This includes in the day-use area.
All sites will be subject to a 14-day maximum stay based on the primary permit holder. All sites will have a primary permit holder and may have secondary permit holders if more units are registered at the same site. Learn more about camping and recreation in the Special Areas here.
