12 Jul Special Areas welcomes new Transport Officer
Special Areas welcomed new Transport Officer Tracy Raypold to the Enforcement Services team this summer.
Town of Hanna residents may see Officer Raypold in the Town of Hanna this summer as she delivers bylaw enforcement services on behalf of the town. Officer Raypold recently moved to the region and is excited to experience rural life in Alberta. She brings her experience in Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and criminal justice to our Enforcement Services team.
Special Areas has been contracted by the Town to provide an average of 8 hours a week of bylaw enforcement services. The Town of Hanna approached Special Areas to provide bylaw enforcement in the town beginning March 2022. This service provision is being managed through an agreement between the Town and Special Areas, like other inter-municipal partnerships like firefighting. Special Areas will charge the Town of Hanna for the provision of these services; it is expected to help reduce costs for both parties by working together.
For enforcement activities taking place in the town, priorities are set by the Town of Hanna with a focus on an education and compliance approach to bylaw enforcement. As there is a limited amount of enforcement time provided for under the current agreement, the enforcement of written complaints submitted to the Town are being prioritized. Anonymous complaints will not be accepted. Proactive patrolling and other bylaw enforcement work is being managed based on direction from the town.
To submit a written complaint, please contact the Town Office (403) 854-4433 or submit a complaint through their online form found at https://hanna.ca/enforcement/.
If you have feedback related to bylaw enforcement in Hanna, please contact the Town Office during business hours.
