Workforce Development Strategy

Workforce Development Strategy

Attention employees, students, job seekers and recent retirees (target market ages 15-65) within the Special Areas 3 and 4 and the MD of Acadia.

Special Areas Regional Economic Development is conducting a Workforce Development Strategy, in partnership with the Government of Alberta Ministry of Employment and Immigration.

If you are currently in the workforce, are looking for work, are a student, or have recently retired we want to know about your work experience in the Special Areas. Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SpecialAreasWorkforceSurvey to complete a 5–10-minute survey. Job seekers who complete the survey by October 7, 2022, can enter their name in our draw to win one of two $150 gift cards from Co-op Oyen Gas Bar, Fuel Buddy, Skappak’s Farm Supply, Snowball’s Feed Store, Station 12-41 ESSO, That’s Empressive, or UFA.

A third-party vendor, Schollie Research & Consulting, has been engaged by Special Areas to prepare the Workforce Development Strategy and conduct the survey analysis. We will reach out to employers in the fall to understand what challenges and obstacles they face with regards to workforce.

To ensure Special Areas has the labour force needed for businesses and organizations to thrive, information is needed to identify trends, issues, and opportunities. This information will be used to help form policies and strategy for training and recruitment programs and other labour force initiatives.
