The Special Area No. 2 Agricultural Service Board is now accepting applications for Board Members at Large! If you want to learn more or apply for these exciting opportunities, contact Jesse Williams by email or call 403-854-1114.
Ideal applicants must:
- Be a current agricultural producer residing & operating in Special Area No.2
- Commit to a 4 year membership term with 4-6 other members
- Actively participate in bimonthly meetings, ASB events and two annual conferences (renumeration is provided)
- Fairly represent the needs of Special Area No. 2 agricultural producers by casting votes on pertinent issues at a regional and provincial level
- Be willing to provide unique solutions and innovative ideas to tackle the unique challenges of our area
As per the Agricultural Service Board Act, the duties of an agricultural service board are to act as an advisory body on ag issues, direct weed, pest & soil programming, and promote viable & sustainable agriculture operations within the municipality.
