13 Feb Regional Irrigation Info Session – March 3
There will be an information session about Phase 2 work on the MD of Acadia and Special Areas Irrigation Project held in Acadia Valley on Monday, March 3 at 1:00 pm.
This information session will include a presentation from the project team, followed by a question & answer period. With Phase 2 nearing completion, this event will share some key updates on the project, including some significant changes made since May 2024. There will be experts from across the project team on hand to answer questions and hear your feedback.
Ahead of the information session, there will be a community lunch at noon (12:00 pm). If you are able to join us for lunch, please RSVP by Tuesday, February 25.

The Special Areas Board (SAB), MD of Acadia (MDA), Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AAF), and the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) partnered to assess the technical and financial feasibility of irrigation expansion in the MD of Acadia and Special Areas region. Based on the findings of the feasibility report, the partners entered into an agreement for Phase 2 work in 2022. Phase 2 work further investigated potential challenges and risks, and explored ways to optimize the path forward. This project will help clarify opportunities for investment in large scale, greenfield irrigation infrastructure in the region.
