2025 Ditch Cutting Program Begins June 9

Special Areas roadside grass control (cutting ditches) for local roads will begin on June 9.

Requests to hay your ditch must be submitted to your local District Office as soon as possible. This will allow our road crew to plan their work accordingly. Roadside grass control crews will begin cutting requested areas which are NOT harvested by July 5.

When you contact your district office, we will need to know the location of the road ditch (including north/south/east/west) you are planning to hay and your contact information when you call.

Alberta Transportation is responsible for roadside grass control on primary and secondary highways.
