29 Sep Day of Truth & Reconciliation – Sep 30
From sunrise to sunset on Monday, September 30, flags at Special Areas Board buildings will fly at half-mast in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We acknowledge the history and ongoing trauma caused by residential schools and honour the survivors, families and communities who continue to grieve for those who were lost. We encourage you to wear an orange shirt to honour residential school survivors and their families, and to carry the important message that #EveryChildMatters.
Today is a day for learning and reflection. We encourage you to take the time to learn more about the residential school system and what each of us can do to foster greater understanding.
