11 Apr Rural Water Feasibility – Open Houses
Special Areas is investigating expanding potable water systems and wants to hear from potential users!
To help us better understand the potential for expansion of existing water systems, we have asked MPE Engineering to complete some initial feasibility work focused on the following areas:
- Watts area
- Scapa area
- Spondin area (Hanna East Water Co-op)
- Cessford area
- Oyen (west) area
- Cappon area
- Youngstown area
We are hosting information sessions to help share our findings so far and to get feedback from potential users in these areas. At these events you can learn more about these potential expansions, and speak with staff from our water services department and representatives from MPE Engineering who are completing this feasibility work. Feedback collected through this engagement will help inform future development priorities for potable water expansion in the Special Areas.
Three drop-in style open houses have been scheduled; no RSVP is required.
- Tuesday May 13, 2025 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. – Hanna Legion Hall – 224 – 2nd Ave W, Hanna, AB
- Wednesday May 14, 2025, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. – Youngstown Community Hall – 209 Main Street, Youngstown, AB
- Thursday May 15, 2025, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. – Oyen Seniors Citizen Centre – 207 – 2nd St. W., Oyen, AB
